Credits & Credit Packs
The two kinds of credit on a Subscriby account and what each pays for: Subscriby Credit, which the Partner Program pays and your own invoices consume, and Copilot Credits, the prepaid pool only Subscriby Copilot can spend, with its packs, bonuses, welcome grant, cap, auto top-up, refunds and statement.
A Subscriby account can hold two kinds of credit. They have similar names and nothing else in common: one is money on your Stripe customer balance that your own invoices consume, the other is a prepaid pool in Subscriby's own ledger that only the Copilot can spend. Neither can ever turn into the other.
Subscriby Credit
A balance on your Subscriby customer account at Stripe, paid by the Partner Program when you choose credit, and taken off your next invoice automatically: plan, addon or transaction fees.
Copilot Credits
A prepaid pool kept by Subscriby, spendable on Subscriby Copilot alone: the packs you buy, their bonuses and anything Subscriby grants you, drawn $0.10 a turn once the month's free turns are spent.
| Subscriby Credit | Copilot Credits | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A balance on your Subscriby customer account at Stripe | A prepaid pool kept by Subscriby, spendable on Subscriby Copilot alone |
| Where it comes from | The Partner Program, when you choose to be paid in credit and the rail is open | Packs you buy, pack bonuses, promotions |
| What it pays for | Your next Subscriby invoices: plan, addons, transaction fees | Copilot turns beyond your plan's free allowance |
| What it can never pay for | Copilot Credits, a cash withdrawal | A plan, an addon, transaction fees, another pack |
| Where you see it | The Partner Program page and your invoices | The Copilot Credits card on Plans & Billing, the panel's credit line, the bot's opening message |
| Taxed | At the invoice it reduces | At purchase, like a plan |
Subscriby Credit
Subscriby Credit is the Stripe customer balance behind your account. When you are paid in credit, each payable Partner Program commission is applied to that balance the moment it becomes payable, with no minimum, and Stripe takes it off your next invoice automatically: your plan, an addon, a transaction-fee invoice, whichever comes first. The Partner Program page shows the line "Subscriby Credit on your account: $X, taken off your next invoice automatically" while any is waiting.
- It is never paid out in cash: a partner who wants cash chooses a cash rail instead, and can switch rails from Payout Details at any time.
- It never buys Copilot Credits and the Copilot never draws on it. A plan invoice cannot eat your Copilot money, and a pack bonus can never become a plan discount.
- A reversed commission (a refunded invoice on the creator you referred) takes the credit back.
The credit rail is offered while it is open; until then commissions are paid in cash once a month. The Partner Program explains the rates, the hold and the rails.
Copilot Credits
Copilot Credits are the prepaid pool Subscriby Copilot draws on once your plan's free turns for the month are spent. They live in Subscriby's own tables, never on your Stripe balance, and nothing about them is ever invoiced: a pack is a one-off purchase, usage is deducted as it happens, and that is all.
What a turn draws
Every plan includes free turns each month: 10 on Free, 25 on Starter, 50 on Growth, reset on the first of the month. Beyond them a turn is $0.10, two turns for a message whose answer needed more than four tool steps, one turn for a confirmed card, nothing for a cancel or a failed turn. A suggested reply in the Support Inbox is not a turn and is never covered by the free ones: it draws $0.05 from the credit each time you ask for one. Turns & Credits has the full table and the order a turn is paid in.
The packs
Starter Pack · $10
$10 of paid credit. No bonus; it is the pack to try the Copilot beyond the free turns.
Regular Pack · $25 + $2.50 free
$25 of paid credit and $2.50 of free credit on top. The pack auto top-up buys unless you choose another.
Plus Pack · $50 + $7.50 free
$50 of paid credit and $7.50 free.
Max Pack · $100 + $15 free
$100 of paid credit and $15 free, the most credit per dollar.
| Source | Amount | Lapses | Spent |
|---|---|---|---|
| A pack's paid part | $10, $25, $50 or $100 | never | after free credit, oldest pack first |
| A pack's bonus | $2.50, $7.50 or $15 | never | with the free credit |
| Promotions and goodwill | whatever Subscriby grants | as stated when granted | with the free credit |
Free credit is always spent before paid credit, the part lapsing soonest first; paid credit is spent oldest pack first. The Billing card shows one balance with the free part and its lapse date under it and the paid part beside it.
Buying a pack
Open Plans & Billing. The Copilot Credits card sits under your subscription once you have a live plan; while you are still choosing your first plan, the plans come first and the card waits.
Pick a pack. The four pack buttons name the price and the free bonus. The card you pay with is kept for auto top-up.
Pay in Stripe Checkout. The pack is taxed at purchase exactly as a plan is, and Stripe sends its usual receipt. Nothing is posted to your Stripe customer balance and nothing appears on a plan invoice.
The credit lands within a minute, the moment Stripe confirms the payment. The Billing page says so on your return; reload it if the balance has not moved yet.
Auto top-up and the cap
The cog on the card opens Auto top-up and spending cap.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Auto top-up | Off | On, it buys the pack you choose when your balance falls under the amount you choose, with the card you bought a pack with, at most once a day |
| Top up below | $5 | The balance that triggers the purchase |
| Pack to buy | Regular ($25 + $2.50 free) | Any of the four |
| Monthly spending cap | $20 | The most paid credit the Copilot may spend in a calendar month; free credit is never counted; 0 for no cap |
A declined auto top-up pauses it and tells you; update the card and switch it on again. When the balance falls under $5 you are told once, by the bell, by email and on your platform bot ("Your Copilot Credits are running low"), with the way to top up.
Refunds
A refunded pack takes its credit back
A pack refunded in Stripe removes its unspent paid credit and voids its bonus. If the refunded credit had already been spent, the balance goes below zero and the Copilot stops until a later grant or pack covers it; the card says so plainly.
The statement
Statement on the card lists the last twelve months: every grant with its lapse date, every pack with its receipt, and every turn, suggestion or answer charged, with the project and the thread it came from. Together they are the one place to read what the Copilot cost you.
For developers
| Event | Fires when |
|---|---|
copilot_credits.purchased | A pack's payment landed and its grants were written |
copilot_credits.granted | Credit was granted outside a pack: a promotion or goodwill |
copilot_credits.low | The balance fell under the low-balance line |
copilot_credits.refunded | A pack was refunded and its credit taken back |
The family documents the payloads, with matching triggers in
Zapier and n8n. The pool is readable and manageable too: GET /v1/me/copilot-credits
answers the balance split into free and paid, this month's allowance and usage, the prices, the packs on
sale and the settings in one object, the statement pages under /statement, POST /packs opens a
purchase and answers the Checkout URL a person pays on, and PATCH /settings changes the auto top-up
and the cap, the reads behind account:read and the writes behind account:write. The MCP tools
get_copilot_credits, list_copilot_credits_statement,
create_copilot_credits_pack and update_copilot_credits_settings answer the same objects, and Zapier
and n8n carry the reads and the settings write; buying a pack stays a page a person pays on.
Two names, kept apart on purpose
Subscriby Credit is money Subscriby owes you against your own invoices; Copilot Credits are a service you prepaid. Keeping them in two places is what lets a pack never discount a plan, and a plan invoice never eat your Copilot money.
