Signing In with a Connected Platform
Your creator account is email-first. An account you hold on a connected platform can be linked to it and used to sign in, receive your alerts and manage your projects from that platform's bot.
A Subscriby creator account is email-first: you always have your email address with a password or a passkey. A connector can add a second way in. Link the account you hold on its platform, and from then on its Continue with … button on the sign-in page signs you in as an alternative to your password, the connector's bot can reach you with alerts, and you can manage your projects from a chat with it.
Creator accounts only sign in through connectors. Google sign-in, magic-link sign-in and similar paths are used on the member portal (your members' login page), not on the creator dashboard. See For Members → Portal if you are reading this as a member.
What signing in with a connected platform does
When you press Continue with … on the sign-in page:
- You authenticate with the platform, not with Subscriby.
- The platform sends us the public profile it exposes at sign-in: your name, your handle if you have one, your picture, and the id it knows you by.
- We match that id to the account already linked to your creator account and sign you in.
- You stay signed in to Subscriby even if you later sign out of the platform. The connection is used only at the moment of sign-in.
If two-factor authentication is on, you are still asked for your code at /two-factor, whichever way you signed in.
Linking an account
If you signed up with an email address, or unlinked a platform account at some point, link one from the dashboard:
Open Settings › Security and find the Linked accounts card. It lists every account already linked and offers a Link button per available connector while none is linked there.
Press Link. The card shows a link into the connector's platform bot and an eight-character code, both valid for fifteen minutes.
From the account you want linked, open the link, or, if it does not open, send the code to the bot as a message. Do this from a private chat with the bot, not from a group.
The bot confirms the link and the card refreshes on its own. From now on Continue with … signs you in, the bot can reach you with alerts, and you can manage your projects from it.
An account on a platform links to one Subscriby account at a time. If the bot answers that the account already signs in to another account, unlink it there first, or use a different account.
Unlinking
Press Unlink next to the account in Settings › Security › Linked accounts and confirm. You keep your password and any passkeys, so nothing locks you out; what you lose until you link again is the platform side: Continue with … no longer signs you in, and the connector's bot can no longer reach you or manage your projects. A backup account registered for Disaster Recovery is removed from the Disaster Recovery page, not from here.
If you have changed accounts on the platform entirely, use the relink flow in Disaster Recovery instead of unlinking and linking: it moves your projects and members over in one step and keeps an undo link.
Why this is useful
- No password to remember. On a shared device, or when you have forgotten your password, Continue with … is an instant alternative.
- Tied to the platform's id, not your handle. Change or remove your handle on the platform and your link is unaffected; we match on the id the platform never changes.
- One account, every path. A connected platform, your email and password, or a passkey all land you on the same dashboard with the same data.
- Only the basics are shared. Subscriby receives the profile fields the platform exposes at sign-in and nothing else: no messages, no contacts.
Per connector
Continue with Telegram opens Telegram's login widget: on a phone you confirm in the Telegram app, on a desktop you scan a code or confirm from your phone. Linking later goes through @TrySubscribyBot, and the account is matched on your numeric Telegram user id, so a changed @username never breaks the link.
