Smart Links
One tracked address per channel, a video description, a bio, a flyer's QR, with the clicks, members, purchases and payments behind each; a bot deep link and a QR code per link; and two embeds for your own website.
A Smart Link is a tracked address for one place you promote your project: a YouTube description, an Instagram bio, a newsletter, a flyer's QR code. Every click on it is counted, every member who signs in within thirty days of clicking it is credited to it, and the Smart Links page shows what each channel brought: leads, purchases, paying members and everything they ever paid. A Direct row holds the members no link brought, so the figures always add up to your project's own.
Smart Links are on every plan, Free included.
Creating a Smart Link
Open Smart Links
In your project's menu, under Referral Program, open Smart Links and press Create New Smart Link. The badge on the menu entry counts the links that are live.
Name it and give it an address
The name is for you alone, so you can tell your links apart once there are several: "YouTube
description", "Instagram bio", "Spring flyer". The address is the segment after /go/ in the
web address, 2 to 32 lowercase letters, digits and hyphens, unique within the project:
https://my.subscriby.net/your-handle/go/youtube. You can rename it later; the code behind the
link never changes, so a QR you printed and a bot link you shared keep working.
Choose where it sends people
Portal home lands on your plan list. One plan opens that plan's checkout straight away; a visitor who is not signed in is asked to sign in first and lands on the plan afterwards. Bot opens your project's bot with the link's code in its start payload, so a member who arrives there is credited too; while no bot is connected, it lands on the portal home instead.
Optionally, give it an end date
After the end date the address still lands on your portal, but nothing is counted or credited any more. Times follow your account timezone. Leave it empty and the link runs until you archive it.
Save
The link is live the moment you save. Open View Smart Link on its row for the addresses, the QR code and the funnel.
The three addresses and the QR code
Every Smart Link answers at three addresses, and all three credit the same link:
https://my.subscriby.net/your-handle/go/youtube. Share it anywhere a person reads a link: bios,
descriptions, newsletters, posts. A click is counted once per visitor address per hour, so reading
your own page a dozen times adds one, and no analytics cookie is set on a stranger.
The detail flyout also draws a QR code of the web address. Download it as an SVG for a flyer or a slide; a PNG is offered where the server can draw one. The code carries the web address, and the web address redirects through your portal where the link's stable code takes over, so a printed QR keeps working after a rename.
The address may change; the code never does. The seven-character code (K7PMQ2X above) is
minted once. It rides in the bot link, the embed page and the attribution cookie, which is why a
rename moves the web address and nothing else.
How a member is credited
- A click is counted when the web address is followed, once per visitor address per hour.
- The visit is remembered in the visitor's browser for thirty days: the link's code, the door
they came through (the portal, your bot, or an embed on your site) and any campaign tags on the
address (
utm_source,utm_medium,utm_campaign, each cut to 120 characters). Nothing personal is stored; the small functional cookie is named in the cookie policy. - The member is credited the first time they are signed in on your portal within those thirty days, or at once when they arrive in your bot through the bot link. From then on their Came From row names the link, the door, the date and the tags.
- The last link wins, until they pay. A member who clicks a second link before their first payment moves to it. After a successful payment the source is fixed, so a paying member's lifetime revenue never moves between links.
- Campaign tags alone never displace a link. A member who arrives with tags but no link is recorded as Direct with those tags shown; a later tagged visit never moves a member off a link.
Members with no link are the Direct row. Together with the links it adds up to every member of the project, which is the point: the funnel is a complete picture, not a sample.
Reading the funnel
The Smart Links table lists every link, live and archived, newest first:
| Column | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Clicks | Lifetime clicks on the web address, with a sparkline of the last thirty days beside it. |
| Leads | Members credited to the link: everyone who signed in through it, whether or not they bought. |
| Checkouts | Those members who started at least one purchase, in any state. |
| Paid | Those members who made at least one successful payment. |
| Conversion | Paid members per hundred clicks. |
| Revenue | Everything those members ever paid, restated in US dollars; the flyout lists it per currency. |
| Status | Live, expiring on a date, expired or archived. |
The Direct row closes the table with the same steps and no clicks, so the columns add up to your project's totals. View Smart Link opens four tiles, the conversion, the revenue per currency, a thirty-day chart of clicks and the last ten members the link brought with whether each has paid, linking to the Members page filtered by that link.
The figures are lifetime by design. They count removed members and ended purchases, so two channels compare on everything each ever brought, and the dashboard's date window never narrows them.
Both dashboards gain a Where Members Come From card with the links that brought the most paying members, the Direct row and an Attribution card (members from links, paid from links, their lifetime revenue). The project dashboard's card lists that project's links; the Overall dashboard's lists the links of every project you own or share, naming the project on each row, with one Direct row for the members no link brought anywhere. The project dashboard's PDF report gains a Smart Links table.
Embedding on your website
Open Embed on Your Website from a link's row menu. The flyout offers two pieces of HTML, each with a Copy HTML button, and a live preview that follows your choices:
- A button. One anchor with its look inline and no script, so every site builder accepts it. It opens your portal in the visitor's window through the link, so the click is counted and the member credited. Change the words on the button and the accent colour; the words turn dark or light on their own so they stay readable.
- Your plan cards. An
iframeof the embed page: your plans as cards, in a light or dark theme with the accent colour you picked. A visitor who picks a plan is sent to your portal's checkout in the top window, credited to the link, because a checkout inside a foreign frame would lose the portal session to the browser's cookie rules. The panel is a fixed height and scrolls inside itself; change the height in the snippet to fit your plans. A plan you edit shows within a minute.
The embed page may be framed by any website, hides from search engines and sets no cookie of its own. A visitor's arrival through either embed is recorded with the Website embed door.
Where the source shows
- Members: a Came from filter on a project's Members page (a link, or Direct) and a Came From row on the member's flyout naming the link, the door, the date and the campaign tags.
- Subscriptions: the same filter on a project's Subscriptions page and the same row on a subscription's details.
- Automations: every member and subscription object the API returns carries
source, the member source object, null for a Direct member.
Expiry, archiving and renaming
- Renaming the address moves the web address only. The old address stops answering; the code, the bot link, the embed page and the QR keep working.
- An end date stops counting and crediting at that moment; the address keeps landing on your portal.
- Archiving is the only removal. The address keeps landing on your portal, so a flyer or a bio that carries it never shows anyone an error, and the members, purchases and revenue stay on the page. An archived link cannot be put back in use; make a new one instead.
In your bot
A connector whose bot has a creator-side menu shows your links too: Manage Smart Links on the project card lists them with their lifetime clicks, members and paid, and opens one with its funnel and the three addresses as tappable buttons, which forward with one long press on a phone. Links are made on the dashboard; see your connector's bot guide under Connectors.
Automations and integrations
- REST: Smart Links API under
/v1/projects/{project}/links, with the funnel for one link and for the whole project. - Webhooks: the
link.*events fire as links are created, changed and archived; clicks and attributions fire nothing and are read from the funnel. - MCP: the Smart Links tools let an agent list, create, change and archive links and read the funnel.
- Zapier and n8n: the same operations and the three triggers, in the Zapier and n8n references.
