Kelviq

Connect Kelviq with one Server API Key. Kelviq collects the payment, handles sales tax and VAT, pays you out in 90+ countries, renews plans on its side and chases a failed renewal for you.

Kelviq is a merchant of record: the buyer pays Kelviq, Kelviq collects and remits sales tax and VAT wherever it sells, and pays you out through its own Stripe rail in more than 90 countries — including many where a creator cannot open a Stripe account. Your plans become Kelviq plans, renewals and failed-payment retries run on Kelviq's side, and the only thing you paste is one Server API Key.

What you'll need

  • A Kelviq account whose business verification and payout onboarding are complete. Kelviq reviews a business before it may sell live, which takes it a day or so; the sandbox works at once.
  • The Server API Key under Settings → API keys.
  • For a dry run, the Server API Key of Kelviq's sandbox environment instead. A sandbox key works only against the sandbox and a production key only against production; a key of the other environment is refused on the first call.

Setup

Copy the Server API Key

  1. Sign in to your Kelviq dashboard and open the organization you sell under.
  2. For a dry run, switch the dashboard to the sandbox environment first.
  3. Go to Settings → API keys and copy the Server API Key. Keep it secure: it reads and writes your catalogue, orders and refunds.

Add Kelviq in Subscriby

  1. Go to Payment Methods → Setup a Payment Method.
  2. Pick Kelviq.
  3. Select Live or Test — the mode must match the environment the key came from.

Enter credentials

  • Kelviq Server API Key — paste the key.
  • Kelviq webhook secret — leave it empty. Subscriby registers the webhook endpoint on your organization and keeps the secret Kelviq issues; fill it only when you registered the endpoint by hand and Subscriby asked you to.

Activate and save

Toggle Active, click Save Changes.

Sync your plans

Choose Sync Subscription Plans from the method's menu. Subscriby creates one Kelviq product for the project (named after it, tax code eservice) and one Kelviq plan under it for each active plan, with one price in the plan's currency on the plan's cycle: monthly, every three months, every six months, yearly or one-time for every organization, and daily, weekly or every four weeks once Kelviq has switched those periods on for yours. A plan on another cycle is left with the reason on its sync status.

Every later change to a plan on sale is pushed on its own. A rename updates the plan and publishes a new version; a new price or a new cycle writes the price and publishes; a change of currency archives the Kelviq plan and creates a fresh one, because Kelviq refuses to publish a version that lacks a currency the live one sells; a plan taken off sale is archived. Existing Kelviq subscriptions keep billing at what they started on.

The first sync also registers the webhook endpoint on your organization, subscribed to the order, subscription, invoice and refund events Subscriby settles on, and stores its secret in the method.

If Kelviq refuses the webhook registration, the method is switched off and the project owner is emailed what to do. Kelviq hands an endpoint's secret back on every read, so an endpoint at Subscriby's address that already exists on your organization is adopted rather than created twice.

Supported currencies

Kelviq charges on Stripe, so it presents the 137 currencies Stripe's checkout does, among them USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, JPY, INR and BRL. Price the plan in one of them and attach Kelviq; Kelviq presents the price to the buyer, adds the tax it must collect where it must collect it, and pays you out in your payout currency.

The subscriber experience

Pick the provider

Subscriber picks Kelviq at checkout on either the bot or the web portal.

Land on Kelviq's checkout

Redirected to Kelviq's hosted checkout, which offers cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and the local methods Kelviq supports in the buyer's country. The email is the member's and cannot be changed there; Kelviq asks for the billing address it needs to work out the tax.

Pay and return

Completes the payment and returns to Subscriby. Kelviq issues the receipt as the seller; Subscriby activates the membership the moment Kelviq's webhook reports the order complete, after reading the order back from Kelviq and recording the amount before tax.

For recurring plans, Kelviq charges every cycle. When a card fails, Kelviq emails the member a payment link and retries up to eight times over fourteen days; Subscriby opens the member's grace period, and its own reminders carry the same link. A cancellation at the end of the period keeps access until then; an immediate one ends it at once. A renewal that fails on a method Kelviq cannot retry, such as a bank debit, cancels the subscription straight away.

Coupons

Coupon codes work on one-time and recurring plans. A code applied at checkout becomes a once-only Kelviq discount code for that purchase, so a recurring plan is discounted on its first charge and renews at the plan's full price. Kelviq's own discount-code box stays closed on the checkout, because a code typed there would bypass the coupon's limits.

Refunds

Issue refunds in your Kelviq dashboard. Kelviq's refund webhook marks the payment refunded in Subscriby once the refund has succeeded; a full refund ends the membership and emits subscription.refunded, a partial one leaves access alone and emits payment.refunded.
