What the App Can Do

Every feature the app exposes to members and to you: slash commands in the server, the welcome message, broadcasts in a channel, support threads, alerts, the Copilot and the automatic role management behind it all.

The Subscriby app in your server does two jobs at once: it answers slash commands, from your members and from you, and it keeps the server's roles in step with the membership ledger without anyone asking. This page lists everything it does; the two command references go deeper.

For members

Members talk to the app through /subscriby, inside your server. Every answer is ephemeral: only the member who ran the command sees it, so a member can check their membership in a busy channel without anyone noticing. The same commands work in a direct message with the app when the member has used them in a server before, since the app then knows which community they mean.

CommandWhat it does
/subscriby statusWhat they hold here: each membership with its plan, status and price, the renewal or end date, and a Join button for any invite still waiting.
/subscriby plansThe plans on offer, with a Buy button per plan (up to ten; the rest on the portal) that opens the portal's checkout.
/subscriby link <code>Connects the Discord account to a portal account from the code the portal showed.
/subscriby refreshIssues their access again, for every place their plan includes.
/subscriby support <message>Sends the community a message; the reply arrives on Discord.
/subscriby referTheir referral code and links when the community runs a referral program, with a Join button the first time.
/subscriby redeem <code>Redeems an access code.
/subscriby cancelCancels the membership here, through the same screen as the portal: the reason, the offer if you made one, a last confirmation.
/subscriby stopStops the follow-up messages the community sends.
/subscriby passesTheir passes here and where each stands.
/subscriby recovery-email show|set|resend|removeThe email that signs them in on the portal if they ever lose the Discord account.

A member who runs a command before connecting their Discord account on the portal is told so, with the portal's button. Joining through Discord walks a member through all of it.

The welcome message

A member who joins your server without a membership is sent the plans once, in a direct message, with a button to the portal. It is sent once per server per member, never again on a rejoin, and you can switch it off under Edit settings → Welcome new members with the plans.

The access message

After a grant, the app sends the member one direct message listing what they now hold, with a Join button for an invite still waiting and an Open button for the server. A member who closed direct messages to the app is not messaged; the same buttons sit on the portal and in /subscriby status.

Messages with no command

A direct message to the app that is not a command reaches your support inbox, filed under the last server the member used a command or joined in. A member the app has never seen in a server is asked to run /subscriby support inside the community's server, or to write from the portal.

For you (the creator)

Your side is /subscriby-admin, a command Discord shows only to members with Manage Server, answered privately in the server. It carries the whole creator toolkit: projects, plans, coupons, access codes, payment methods, places on sale, broadcasts, the support inbox, the Referral and Partner Programs, the portal design, Revenue Recovery, Smart Links, creator tasks, the connectors, pass windows as events, Disaster Recovery, alerts and the Copilot. The full reference is Admin commands.

Beyond commands, the app does these for you:

  • Broadcasts in a channel. With an announcement channel picked, a broadcast is posted there once, mentioning the roles of the plans it is for, instead of landing in every member's direct messages. Running your server has the details.
  • Support where you want it. A member's message reaches your inbox and, by the project's support setting, either your direct messages (press Reply, or reply to the message) or a thread in a forum channel of your server, one per conversation.
  • Alerts in your direct messages. /subscriby-admin alerts here routes sales, waiting members and incidents to Discord; the critical ones are still emailed.
  • The Copilot. /subscriby-admin ask <question> opens Subscriby Copilot in your reply, with its thinking, its answer, link buttons, follow-ups and confirmation cards.
  • Pass windows as events on the server's calendar, and Linked Roles written from the ledger.

Automatic member-management features

  • Grants within seconds. A member in the server gets the role at once; a member who connected Discord on the portal is added to the server by the app itself; everyone else gets a single-use invite that completes the grant the moment they join.
  • Removal the same minute. When access ends the plan's roles are taken back, the role behind a gated channel included; a server plan ending keeps or removes the member as you chose.
  • Reconciliation every fifteen minutes. The server's roles are compared with the ledger: missing roles are given back, lingering ones removed. Nobody is removed from the server by it.
  • Invites withdrawn. An invite that was never used is revoked on Discord when the grant is revoked, so a stale link never gets anyone in.
  • Tokens kept fresh. A member who connected Discord stays addable: their authorisation is renewed daily so a failover or a new purchase months later still adds them directly.
  • The role behind a channel, made on demand. The first grant on a gated channel creates its role and the one exception that shows the channel; delete the role and the next grant makes a new one.

What the app can't do

  • Manage a role above its own. Drag the Subscriby role up in Server Settings → Roles.
  • Read your server. It reads messages only in the channels you mirror into a standby, the support threads it opened, and the direct messages people send it.
  • Message a member who closed direct messages to it. Their access still works; the buttons are on the portal.
  • Take a payment. Members pay through your gateways on the portal; every selling command ends in a portal button.
  • Ban anyone. Removal is a kick when you chose it; Discord's bans stay yours.

Everything above is also reachable from the dashboard, the API, the MCP server, Zapier and n8n: the app renders the same operations in Discord's idiom, it does not own them.
