Running Your Server
The members area in one click, the announcement channel and broadcasts that mention roles, support in your direct messages or a forum of threads, alerts on Discord and the Copilot in your reply.
Once the app is in your server and a place is on sale, the day-to-day runs from three places: the
dashboard, /subscriby-admin in the server, and the direct messages the app sends you. This page is
the day-to-day.
The members area in one click
A paid Discord server usually wants the same shape: a private area only members can see, a channel for announcements, a place to talk and a place to meet. Set up a members area builds it:
On the project's Connectors page, open the Discord row's actions and choose Set up a members area, or run /subscriby-admin setup in the server. Give it a name if Members is not what you want.
Confirm. The app creates a role with no permission of its own, a private category hidden from @everyone and shown to that role, #members (members may read and write), #announcements (members may read, not write) and a voice lounge, all inside the category.
The role goes on sale as the project's first place, #announcements becomes the announcement channel, and each channel is recorded so it can be sold on its own later. Attach the role to a plan from the Plans page and you are selling.
Discord's side is built first and never undone: a role already called that name is refused before anything is made, and a refusal after the channels exist says what was made and what was not. Run it once per server; a second run with another name builds a second area.
Putting a place on sale
Three ways, all ending in the same resource:
- The Resources page — link a place and pick from the list the app reads from your server: roles, channels (text, voice, stage and forum, titled with their category) and the server itself.
/subscriby-admin gate role|channel|server [plan]— Discord's own role or channel menu in your reply, with the plan to attach it to typed by name.- The members area above, for the first role.
/subscriby-admin resources lists what the project sells, on every connector, with how the app last
found each place. A role you sell must sit below the Subscriby role in Server Settings → Roles;
the doctor names any that does not.
Broadcasts in your announcement channel
A broadcast written on the dashboard, or with /subscriby-admin broadcast, reaches members one of
two ways:
- With an announcement channel picked (under Edit settings, or made by the members area), the broadcast is posted once in that channel, mentioning the roles of the plans it is for, so only those members are pinged. A member who asked for a copy on the portal (Notify me here on their connected account) also gets it as a direct message.
- Without one, every member in the audience gets a direct message from the app.
The composer's hint under the message says which of the two will happen. Discord shows bold,
italic, underline, strikethrough and code; a Discord-formatted message typed in /subscriby-admin broadcast is carried as it is. The audiences a slash command offers are the segments that need no
pass window; pass-window segments are sent from the dashboard. See Broadcasts.
Support from your direct messages, or a forum
A member's message, from /subscriby support, from a direct message to the app, or from the portal,
lands in your support inbox. Where you answer it from on Discord is the project's Support
setting:
- Direct messages — the app sends you each new message on Discord. Press Reply under it, or reply to the message itself, and your answer reaches the member on their account, quoting their message.
- A forum of threads — create a forum channel only your team can see and pick it under Support
forum in the connector's settings (or
/subscriby-admin relay set). Each conversation opens as a thread there; a reply written inside the thread goes back to that member, attributed to the teammate who wrote it.
/subscriby-admin inbox list|read|reply|resolve|reopen works whichever mode you chose, and the
dashboard's inbox shows everything either way. A file a member attaches is read from Discord when
you open it, so it is never stale. See Support inbox.
Who may answer
A reply inside a forum thread is recorded for the creator or teammate whose Discord account is linked to a Subscriby account on the project. Someone else writing in the thread is told to sign in to the dashboard with that Discord account first.
Alerts on Discord
/subscriby-admin alerts with here set to True routes Subscriby's alerts to your direct messages
on Discord: sales, members waiting on something, incidents. The critical ones, billing and security,
are still emailed. Set here to False to stop; leave it out and the switch flips. The same switch is
on Notifications under alert destinations.
The Copilot in your reply
/subscriby-admin ask <question> hands the question to Subscriby Copilot and paints the answer into
your private reply as it arrives: the thinking, the tools it uses, the answer, with link buttons,
follow-up buttons and, when it is about to change something, a confirmation card. A reply can be
repainted for fourteen minutes; a longer turn, or a follow-up pressed later, continues in your direct
messages. New thread starts over. See Copilot in your bot.
Sharing your project
There is no bot link on Discord. Share the portal address, a plan's own link, or a Smart
Link that credits the channel it was shared in; pin /subscriby plans in
your free channels so visitors see the plans with a Buy button each. See Share your
project.
What members see on the way in
- A visitor who joins the server without a membership is sent the plans once (switch it off under Welcome new members with the plans).
- A buyer who connected Discord is added to the server and given their roles by the app; anyone else gets a single-use invite.
/subscriby statusin the server shows them what they hold and any invite still waiting.

Pass Windows as Events
A window of access on a place becomes a Discord scheduled event, kept in step with the window: the server default, each place's own choice, the 30-day horizon and the events you made yourself.
How the App Stays Connected
The live connection Subscriby keeps open to Discord, what runs on its own when it hiccups, and what to check when the app goes quiet in your server.
