Joining Through Discord
For members: buy on the portal, connect your Discord account, get your roles the moment you pay, and manage your membership with /subscriby without leaving Discord.
Overview
A community on Discord sells its roles, channels or the server itself through Subscriby. You pay on
the community's portal, connect your Discord account once, and the Subscriby app in the server
gives you what you paid for. From then on /subscriby in the server answers everything about your
membership.
Open the portal
Follow the link the creator shared: the portal page, a plan's own link, or the Buy button under
/subscriby plans in the server. The portal shows the plans, the prices and what each unlocks; a
Discord place reads Role, Private channel or Server.
Sign in with Discord
Press Continue with Discord. Discord asks you to authorise Subscriby, and you are back on the portal signed in, with your Discord account connected to your membership. You can also sign in by email or another account and connect Discord afterwards from Account & Recovery → Connected accounts → Connect Discord.
What you authorise
Three things, and nothing else: to read your profile (so the app knows who you are), to add you to servers Subscriby manages (so you never have to click an invite), and to write your membership badge for Discord's Linked Roles. The app cannot read your messages, your friends or the servers you are in.
Pick a plan and pay
Choose the plan and pay with any method the creator offers: cards and wallets, local rails or crypto. Discord has no in-app payment, so there is no checkout inside Discord itself.
Get your access
The moment the payment settles:
- If you are already in the server, the roles appear within seconds.
- If you connected Discord, the app adds you to the server itself, with the roles.
- Otherwise the portal shows Join the server for …: a single-use invite made for you, valid a week. Open it once and your access is set up as you arrive.
The app also sends you a direct message listing what you hold, with Join and Open buttons, when your direct messages are open to it.
Managing your membership
Inside the server, type /subscriby and pick a command. Every answer is only visible to you.
View status
/subscriby status shows each membership with its plan, status and price, the renewal or end
date, and a Join button for any invite still waiting. /subscriby passes lists your passes and
where each stands. /subscriby refresh issues your access again for every place your plan includes,
if a role ever goes missing.
Cancelling
/subscriby cancel walks the same screen as the portal: it names the plan and the date you keep
access until, asks why if the community wants to know, shows the offer the creator made if there is
one, and ends with Cancel my membership or Keep my membership. You keep your roles until the
end of the period you paid for; after that they are removed automatically.
Stopping follow-ups
/subscriby stop stops the follow-up messages this community sends you. Switch them back on from
your account on the portal.
Account recovery
Do not lock yourself out
Your membership is tied to your Discord account. Lose that account and you lose the way back to what you paid for. Setting a recovery email takes half a minute and lets you sign in to the web portal with a magic link instead.
/subscriby recovery-email show— the address on file, and whether it is verified./subscriby recovery-email set <email>— sets or changes it; a verification link is sent, single-use, valid for an hour./subscriby recovery-email resend— sends the link again./subscriby recovery-email remove— removes it; your portal sign-in then needs this Discord account.
The same card is on the portal under Account & Recovery, where you can also link a Google, Facebook, LinkedIn or X account as another way in.
Refer & Earn
When the community runs a referral program, /subscriby refer shows the pitch and the terms with a
Join the program button the first time, then your code, your links and how you are doing:
friends referred, friends who paid, what you earned. The creator may approve each affiliate by hand;
your link appears the moment they do.
Redeeming access codes
Received an access code from a giveaway or an offline purchase? /subscriby redeem <code> activates
the plan at once and your roles follow. You need your Discord account connected on the portal
first; the command tells you if it is not.
Asking the creator a question
/subscriby support <message> sends the community a message, and the reply comes back to you on
Discord as a direct message from the app. A direct message to the app with no command does the same
once you have used a command in the community's server, so the app knows which community you mean.
See Contacting support.
Linked Roles
Some servers put a Linked Roles requirement on a role: a verified Subscriby membership. Click the role in the server, choose Subscriby, and authorise; Discord then sees whether you are an active member, for how long, and on how many plans. See Linked Roles.
